Guacamayo

It is one of the biggest species of neo-tropical parrot and is the bird that represents Honduras to the world. In ancient times, the Mayas associated it with the strength of the su n an d th e p o wer o f fir e. Th e ͞M ac aw͟ possessed an iridescent red plumage and part of the wing feathers are blue, yellow and to a lesser extent green.
